Scott Parker emerges as leading contender for West Ham head coach role

Scott Parker is close to being appointed West Ham’s new head coach following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo, according to the BBC.

Nuno Espirito Santo was officially sacked on Tuesday, 3 November, after West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League last season. The club finished 18th in the table under the Portuguese manager and are currently eighth in the Championship.

Parker, 46, is a former England footballer who spent four seasons playing for West Ham. He has since moved into management and is now in contention to take charge of the London club.

The possible appointment would see Parker return to West Ham in a coaching role after his time there as a player.
