Schalke coach Roberto di Matteo says Kevin-Prince Boateng is going nowhere and remains part of his plans for next season.
Boateng has been linked with a return to the Serie A with clubs like AC Milan and Juventus monitoring his situation.
The Ghana international has not started a match since February when he faced Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Boateng has made a total 16 appearances for the Royal Blues in the Bundesliga but Di Matteo claims he still remains key.
"He is an important player for us on the pitch and in the dressing room - in the future I plan to him," the Italian trainer told Sport Bild in an interview.
