Rwanda President Paul Kagame admits the playing surface at their national stadium is poor and needs a massive improvement.

The poor state of the pitch at the Amahoro Stadium has caught worldwide attention following Ghana’s 1-0 win over Rwanda in the 2017 AFCON qualifier on Saturday.

The patchy surface marred the beauty of the game as both teams struggled to sustain a pattern of play.

And President Paul Kagame who has been at the forefront of infrastructural transformation in Rwanda admits work needs to be done to improve the pitch to perhaps save his country from future rudicle.

“I agree about the pitch, we should improve it significantly,” President Kagame Tweeted.

Ghana however managed to come away with all three points from Kigali courtesy a late free kick by midfielder Mubarak Wakaso.
