Russian-Nigerian Brian Idowu For Left Back Spot At Russia 2018
Super Eagles head Coàch has all but confirmed that Amkar Perm defender Brian Idowu will be a part of the Nigerian team to the World Cup in Russia next year.
25 year old Idowu is in line for his senior debut for Nigeria tomorrow against Argentina in Russia, and the coach made it known during the pre match conference that Idowu has a strong chance of playing at the World Cup with Nigeria.
Rohr said the Russian born Nigerian would have played for Nigeria earlier, but issues around a cap on foreign players in the league stopped him from teaming up with the team one year ago.
” A year ago, Idowu was invited to the national team of Nigeria, but then he did not play because of the difficulty with the limit on the foreign players in the Russian championship. But now the situation has changed. And tomorrow he is likely to play”, Rohr said.
