Roma 3-0 Brescia: Man Utd loanee Chris Smalling scores one and assists two
Chris Smalling has scored two goals for Roma in Serie A this season
Chris Smalling scored one goal and assisted two others as Roma moved into the Serie A top four with a comfortable win over bottom-of-the-table Brescia.
On-loan Manchester United defender Smalling headed in from Lorenzo Pellegrini's corner after 49 minutes.
Up for another corner eight minutes later, Smalling's cushioned header set up fellow centre-back Gianluca Mancini.
The England international met a third Pellegrini cross as Edin Dzeko sealed the points for Paulo Fonseca's side.
Dzeko was denied a second in the latter stages, drawing a good save from Jesse Joronen before having a goal ruled out for offside.
Roma climb to fourth in the Italian top flight, two points behind third-placed Lazio, who required a 91st-minute winner to beat Sassuolo 2-1.
Cagliari can move back into the Champions League places with victory over Lecce later on Sunday (19:45 GMT).
