Rodgers keen to keep Maguire
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has made it clear that the Foxes' valuation of England international Harry Maguire has not been met by any other club.
Manchester United are believed to be interested in signing the 26-year-old former Sheffield United and Hull City defender this summer.
Maguire played in half of Leicester's 1-0 pre-season friendly win at Scunthorpe United on Tuesday and afterwards Rodgers had nothing but praise for the player.
He said: "There's a value that hasn't been met yet and my support is to him. He's a special player and we want to keep him but, of course, time will tell. The other club interested is a huge club but he's a really good guy.
"I've been in this position a number of times and it's never easy but he's taken part in everything and hasn't showed anything other than sheer professionalism. You've seen that with the 45 minutes he played here.
"The club have been very good. If we lose him we'd have a number of targets we'd look at. But we're quite relaxed with him. He's a top-quality player and no one has come near the valuation of the player to tempt the club to sell."
Meanwhile, Rodgers has made it clear that there is plenty to work on following the narrow victory against League Two side Scunthorpe.
After watching new signing Ayoze Perez score the only goal of the match, former Liverpool and Celtic boss Rodgers added: "That was a good exercise for fitness. These types of games are important for us and it's just the players getting the geography of the pitch again, getting the space in.
"We showed real quality so I'm very pleased because it's very early and there's a lot of work to do."
Leicester can be backed at 4/1 to finish in the top six of the Premier League in 2019/20 while they are 13/10 to beat Wolves in their opening fixture on 11th August.
