Harry Maguire is expected to leave Leicester City and join Manchester United this summer, according to Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers.

After months of speculation linking the England defender with moves to United and Manchester City, it's the Red Devils who are on the verge of completing the signing.

With a reported £80m set to be spent to bring Maguire to Old Trafford, the 26-year-old will become the world's most expensive defender.

Rodgers has revealed the deal is close and feels United are about to have an extremely talented defender in their squad.

"The clubs have agreed [a fee] and there's still some work for it to go through," he told Sky Sports. "There's still a bit to go in terms of Harry's medical and whatever personal things to sort out, but it is what it is.

"He's a special player, he's not a player that of course we would want to lose.

"He's a top-class player, he's a good man as well, and everything about Harry over the course of this pre-season, he knows there has been interest over the summer and he's been super professional."

Manchester United are 40/1 to win the Premier League this season, while Leicester are 7/2 to finish in the top six.
