The Pillars bus was attacked around 1pm in the afternoon and three players were shot while two others sustained injuries.

The club media officer Idris Malikawa told AfricanFootball.com that the players were shot and all the injured players are receiving treatment in Lokoja as they urged the LMC to shift the match.

“Our team bus was attacked by armed robbers this afternoon at Abaji between Lokoja and Abuja on the way to Owerri for the game against Heartland. Three of our players, Gambo Mohammed, Eneji Otekpa and Adamu Murtala, were shot on the hand,” Malikawa disclosed.

“Ubong Ekpai and Reuben Ogbonnaya sustained injuries on their hands too. They are all receiving treatment in a hospital in Lokoja. Thank God no life was lost.
