Rivers Angels handed Robo Queens their first loss in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Women Football League, according to Nigeriasoccernet.com.

2021 champions, Rivers Angels beat the Lagos Landladies 4-2 to record their second win of the season at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Wednesday.

Captain Polinus Ifeoma gave the host the lead via a freekick 6 minutes after the goalkeeper saved Peace Effiong's attempt.

Robo Queens, 4 minutes later restored parity through Kemi Adegbuyi as the two sides remained at par at the end of half-time.

Aminat Folorunsho scored from Peace Effiong's cross to restore the hosts' lead in the 50th minute before Ifeoma Ikenokwalu's freekick was deflected into the net by Fasilat Adeyemo 2 minutes later.

Two minutes after the one-hour mark, Rivers Angels were awarded a penalty after Bukola Adegbite fouled Ifeoma Ikenokwalu in the box. Peace Effiong stepped up minutes later to score 4-1.

Chidnma Ogbuchi reduced the deficit for Robo Queens via a freekick in the 78th minute, but that was much the Lagos side could do as they fell to their first defeat of the season.
