Rio Ferdinand: Harry Kane is the ‘only candidate’ for the Ballon d’Or

Former England footballer Rio Ferdinand believes Harry Kane should win the Ballon d’Or after another outstanding season with Bayern Munich.

The 33-year-old striker finished as the leading scorer in the German Bundesliga, scoring 36 goals. Kane also helped Bayern Munich win the German championship, the German Cup and the German Super Cup.

Kane’s achievements with England have further strengthened his case, with the forward part of the team that won a bronze medal at the 2026 World Cup.

Ferdinand considers his fellow England international the only serious candidate for the prestigious individual award.
