The Black Satellites crashed out of next year’s Olympic Games after losing 4-5 on penalties to Congo away.

Ghana went into the second leg with a slender 1-0 advantage but unfortunately could not get the all-important away goal to sail through.

Congo dominated the first half and deservedly got themselves back into the game thanks to goal from  Raja Casablanca youngster Sylvere Ganvoula to pull the tie back to 1-1.

Malik Jabir’s side managed to absorb all the pressure from then and managed to send the game into the ultimate decider, lottery of penalties where eventually the home side won 4-5 to end Ghana’s dreams of making it to the Olympic games in Rio next year.

Let us be realistic here. Our local players simply cannot do what is necessary. We need foreign based and foreign born players to make this Olympic qualification a real possibility.
