Revolution continue surge
The New England Revolution were bottom of the Eastern Conference in May when they made the decision to move on from head coach Brad Friedel.

On Sunday New England got the better of FC Cincinnati, winning 2-0, to move up to seventh in the Conference - the final playoff position. There's still a lot of football to be played, but with the teams above them in the standings generally having fits and starts, it will be fascinating to see how the Revolution continue the rest of the way.
The headline match-up in the Eastern Conference on Sunday was Atlanta United and DC United meeting at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The game seemed poised to be a goalless draw, before Atlanta scored two late goals through Gonzalo Martínez and Josef Martínez. That was enough to see Atlanta jump over DC United into second place in the Eastern Conference, three points behind the Philadelphia Union, 16/1 to win the MLS Cup, in the standings.
Meanwhile, the New York Red Bulls are now fourth after they edged Orlando City 1-0 at the Orlando City Stadium. Brian White scored the only goal of the game after 32 minutes and the Red Bulls now lead New York City FC by two points. The Montreal Impact are sixth, tied on 30 points with the Revolution, but Montreal have one more win to their name.
