Liverpool have been given a boost with the news defender Joe Gomez is back in training after recovering from a broken leg.

Gomez has been out on the sidelines for over three months after he suffered the injury at Burnley on 5th December.

However, the 21-year-old has been recovering well behind the scenes and manager Jurgen Klopp is looking forward to having the youngster back available.

"It is nice - Joe is not injured anymore and nearly fit," said Klopp. "Joe was out for 15 weeks. That's long, so he needs to now create the basis again for the rest of the season."

Meanwhile, there is also positive news regarding midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as the England international continues his positive progress from the cruciate knee ligament injury he sustained in April last year.

Klopp is eager not to put too much pressure on Oxlade-Chamberlain's return but again the German is happy to see the winger closing in on first-team football.

"We're careful of course," added Klopp. "He is working, he is doing a lot and I think will be in training in a week again. Then he will be fine."

Liverpool are 2/1 to win the Premier League this season, while rivals Manchester City are 2/5 to retain the crown.
