The Italian redeemed himself, saving from Reto Ziegler to preserve the win that sends Minnesota up to third in the Western Conference.
Over in Montreal the Impact missed a glorious opportunity to go second in the Eastern Conference when they fell 2-0 to Toronto FC.
That's three consecutive defeats for Montreal who have also lost to Minnesota United and Atlanta United since back-to-back triumphs over the Portland Timbers and the Seattle Sounders.
