Real Madrid revive interest in Ajax prospect Abdellah Ouazane

Real Madrid are considering a renewed approach for Abdellah Ouazane after a proposed move for the Ajax playmaker fell through at the final stage in 2025.

The latest reports come from Italy, with Tuttomercatoweb claiming that Ouazane has once again emerged as a target for the Spanish club.

Ouazane appeared close to joining Real Madrid during the summer of 2025. He had already completed his medical examination, but Real Madrid decided not to proceed with the transfer and the deal collapsed.

The 2025 move now appears to have been abandoned rather than forgotten. Tuttomercatoweb says Ouazane is again high on Real Madrid’s list of preferred signings, with the club monitoring his development closely.

“Real Madrid are following the evolution of the situation closely, studying daily reports and preparing a strategic offensive,” the Italian outlet wrote.

“The objective is clear: to recruit Ouazane before his market value explodes, so that Jose Mourinho once again has a midfield player with a future in his squad.”

Ouazane’s progress at Ajax has strengthened the case for renewed interest. He has made 12 appearances for the club so far this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists.

His performances have also led to international recognition, with the playmaker receiving his first call-up to the Morocco national team.

Real Madrid’s reported interest comes after the club previously chose not to complete a transfer that had appeared close to being finalised. The Spanish side are now said to be assessing Ouazane’s development on a daily basis and considering a fresh attempt to secure his signature.
