Real Madrid given highest La Liga wage limit as Barcelona’s allowance rises

Real Madrid have been granted the highest salary limit in La Liga, with the club permitted to spend up to 832.79 million euros on staff wages during the season.

La Liga uses salary limits as part of its efforts to ensure clubs remain financially sustainable. The allowance for each team is reviewed periodically and is based on its financial position. It represents the maximum amount a club can spend on salaries over a season, and breaching the limit prevents teams from registering new players.

Real Madrid’s position has improved since last year, when their limit stood at 761.23 million euros. The figure gives the Spanish champions the largest wage allowance among La Liga clubs.

Barcelona have also seen a significant increase in their permitted spending. Their current salary limit is 582.77 million euros, compared with 351.28 million euros in March last year and 432.8 million euros in September.

The lowest limit currently belongs to Sevilla, whose wage ceiling is 20.16 million euros.
