Raphinha asks agents to open talks with Barcelona over his future

Raphinha has instructed his representatives to begin negotiations with Barcelona as he seeks clarity over his position at the club.

The Brazil winger wants to understand what role he is expected to play for Barcelona in the medium term, with his current contract running until the middle of 2028.

Those close to Raphinha believe his excellent start to the season could provide grounds for discussions about extending the 29-year-old’s deal.

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is pleased with the winger’s performances and has held him up as an example to the rest of the squad. However, the club still has to decide how it intends to approach Raphinha’s future.
