At a football gathering in Ouagadougou, Paris Saint-Germain supporters have backed their team to challenge FC Barcelona in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League meeting, while acknowledging the threat posed by the Catalan side’s current form.

PSG host Barcelona at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, in the third matchday of the league phase. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 Burkina Faso time.

Christian Narcisse Hien believes Paris should not be intimidated by Barcelona’s recent performances. He pointed to PSG’s run in the previous season, when many observers had expected them to struggle against Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final.

“For me, PSG have no reason to fear Barcelona, even if they are in very good form,” he said.

“Every observer thought Bayern would make short work of PSG. The reality was shown on the pitch.”

Hien feels both sides have the qualities to win the game, but has greater faith in the French club.

“It is 50-50, but the balance is more in PSG’s favour. This is Paris,” he added.

Brahima Sidibe was more guarded in his assessment. He believes PSG can disrupt Barcelona’s rhythm, but expects the contest to produce plenty of goals.

“Anything is possible in this match. I think that if there is one team capable of stopping the Catalan machine at the moment, it is us,” he said.

However, Sidibe is reluctant to predict an end to Barcelona’s run of 11 consecutive victories.

“If we are objective and realistic, I find it difficult to see Barcelona ending that run with a defeat. That is why I am going for a high-scoring draw: 3-3 or 2-2,” he said.

Issiaka Sanou focused on the tactical battle, particularly PSG’s attacking threat and the importance of controlling midfield. He identified Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue as players who could make the difference for the hosts.

“If Kvaratskhelia and Doue are at their best, PSG will score a lot of goals tomorrow,” Sanou said.

But he also warned Paris must deal with Barcelona’s technical ability through the centre of the pitch.

“Barcelona have a major asset in midfield with Pedri and Rodri. If they combine well with Yamal, it could cause serious problems.”

Sanou believes PSG’s ability to dominate midfield and exploit spaces will be central to the outcome.

Ousmane Drabo’s optimism is based on Paris’s recent European performance, particularly their 4-2 victory against Manchester City on 14 October in the Champions League.

“Anything can happen in football. City were in good form when PSG travelled to face them. Anything is possible,” he said.

Drabo remains particularly impressed by PSG’s midfield display in that match.

“I watched the game against City again, wow! PSG’s midfield was exceptional. If they produce the same performance, Barcelona are in trouble.”

The supporters in Ouagadougou are therefore approaching the Parc des Princes fixture with belief, while remaining aware of Barcelona’s strengths. Some expect PSG’s collective quality to prevail; others anticipate an open, high-scoring encounter. The answer will come on the pitch.
