Ghanaian striker Ebenezer Assifuah helped underdogs FC Sion to defeat FC Basel 3-0 to claim their 13th Swiss Cup on Sunday.

The 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup top scorer was handed a starting role and played 75 minutes at Saint Jakob-Park, Basel’s home ground.

Senegalese striker Moussa Konaté opened the scoring for Sion in the 18th minute.

The second goal came five minutes into the second half when Edimilson Fernandes made it 2-0.

Carlitos notched the third goal in the 60th minute with a header.

The victory for Sion is the 13th out of 13 Swiss cup finals that it has competed in, matching the number of stars on the flag of the canton of Valais, which is this year celebrating its 200th anniversary in the Swiss confederation.
