The Black Queens will attempt to win a historic gold medal at the All Africa Games against Cameroon on Friday afternoon.

The two sides will be meeting for the fourth time this year with their latest being the 1-1 at the Group stage.

But the Queens are sweating on the fitness on influential duo Cynthia Adobia and Juliet Acheampong who skipped training on Thursday.

“They had a few knocks in our previous match. We treated them-we just managed to- because we had just 48 hours to get them ready for the match,” team doctor Mabel Abuah said.

“What we actually wanted them to do is to get a feel of the field because this a new field but I know that by God’s Grace they will be ready.”

Cameroon, who had an impressive campaign at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada, enhanced their gold winning credentials after eliminating Nigeria’s Super Falcons 2-1 on Tuesday.

Les Lionnes beat the Queens 1-0 to win gold at the last edition of the All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.
