After an 11-year stay with Watford, Troy Deeney has announced his departure.
The 33-year-old was released by the freshly promoted Premier League club amid reports that he was on his way to the Championship.
And to explain his choice, the former Watford captain has issued a heartfelt video to Watford fans.
In his statement to the fans, the player said “Watford is in my heart forever, It's a place that is the epicenter of my world” He went on to say that leaving feels like leaving a family member since through his 11 years stay at the club he has made very close friends and together they have achieved a lot.
In 389 appearances with the Hornets, Deeney scored 131 goals and twice helped them gain promotion to the Premier League.
