From Footy Extras, Rennes senior member Florian Maurice has affirmed that teenage sensation Eduardo Camavinga will be sold this month if he does not sign a fresh deal with the club.

The 18-year-old’s existing contract with Les Rouge et Noir is set to expire in June 2022, meaning that the midfielder could walk away for free next year if fresh terms are not agreed.

Manchester United are reportedly plotting a move for him should Paul Pogba leave the club, and Rennes sporting director Maurice is not willing to let the club’s prized asset leave for nothing in 2022.

Speaking to France Bleu, he said: “It is a very difficult transfer market and his future could depend on the movements of other clubs. Either we will extend it [his contract] or we look for a solution to sell him.

“Letting him go for free, after we have raised him, is not good for anyone. He can choose between saying ‘I want to go’ and ‘I want to stay’. I know what he wants to do, but then we have to find a solution that satisfies all parties.”
