Former Roma manager Paulo Fonseca is said to be one of the frontrunners to succeed Steve Bruce as manager of Newcastle United.

The Magpies are almost set to bring in a new player to replace Bruce, with Fonseca excelling at Roma and drawing interest from other large teams in recent months.

Fonseca is reportedly in line for the Newcastle position following the club's £305 million Saudi acquisition, with the new owners said to have huge plans for the club, according to the Mirror.

Fonseca may not be in the same category as some of the other candidates discussed, such as Antonio Conte or Zinedine Zidane, but he would still be a bold choice.

According to reports, NUFC is planning a complete overhaul of the club's training facilities, which Amanda Staveley believes are "very bad."
