Pochettino talks up Spurs belief
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino believes his side can still make the knockout stages of the Champions League following their dramatic 2-1 win over PSV on Tuesday night.
Spurs went behind to an early Luuk de Jong header but a late brace from England skipper Harry Kane ensured it was the north London outfit who secured the three points at Wembley.
With games to come against Inter Milan and Barcelona, Spurs still have a chance to progress from Group B, as the Nerazzurri and Bluagrana played out a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.
Pochettino was delighted with the victory against PSV and is now upbeat that his side can still achieve something special in Europe this season and progress through one of the toughest groups in the competition.
"If we can beat Inter then we will both have seven points," he said. "Then in one game anything can happen. We will go to Barcelona [for the final group match] to try to win the game. The belief is still there. I am so optimistic."
Pochettino added: "The team deserved the victory. We won and suffered a lot. It was a massive effort so I was pleased. We played a lot in eight days. Now we need to try to recover for Saturday [at Crystal Palace].
"The team is growing up. We have the character of never giving up, which is so important."
Spurs are 20/1 to be the furthest progressing Premier League team in the Champions League.
