Nigeria ex international, Peter Rufai has described Super Falcons' loss to Mexico in the Revelation Cup as a blessing in disguise that could spur the team to greatness ahead of the World Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Falcons lost narrowly to the Mexican female national team by a goal to nil in the ongoing Revelation Cup in Leon Mexico for a sixth consecutive time.

To Nigeria former goalkeeper, the team's present form could be a blessing in disguise if properly managed by the technical crew of the team.

He asks that the Coach, Randy Waldrum put the team shape for victory in their next game as a win can serve a morale booster for the nine African champions.

“It’s a bit sad that the Super Falcons lost against Mexico at the 2023 Revelations Cup. Yes, this may have a psychological effect on the players but on the other hand, this may just be a blessing in disguise for the team.

“Waldrum must ensure he helps the team claim a victory to at least boast the morale of the players.

“Perhaps they can start by winning their next game against Colombia on Saturday and that can just kickstart a great winning spirit among the players before the Women’s World Cup.”

The Super Falcons continue their campaign with their second game of the tournament against Colombia on Saturday.
