Paul Robinson: Phil Foden ‘would never do that without provocation’

Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson says Phil Foden would not have been sent off for kicking Bruno Fernandes without first being provoked.

The Manchester City player was dismissed in the 23rd minute of the fourth-round match against Manchester United after striking Fernandes with his feet.

Manchester City went on to win the match 1-0. Robinson said: “He would never do that without provocation.”

Manchester City are second in the table on 12 points, level with Arsenal.
