Pascal Groß became the oldest player to provide an assist in three consecutive Premier League matches since Ryan Giggs after helping Brighton beat Sunderland 2-0 away from home in the sixth round of the English championship.

Groß, aged 35 years and 117 days, set up one of Brighton’s goals to register an assist for the third league game in succession. The last player to achieve the feat at an older age was Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs, who was 38 years and 68 days old in February 2012.

Brighton will face Crystal Palace in the next round of the English championship. The Seagulls are currently third in the Premier League table.
