Up to 1,000 fans will be in attendance for Parma-Napoli and Sassuolo-Cagliari when Serie A returns to action this weekend after the region of Emilia-Romagna gave the all clear.

Fans have been barred from attending matches in Italy since COVID-19 brought a halt to proceedings back in March.

However ANSA reports President of Emilia-Romagna Stefano Bonaccini has given the green light for fans to return to the stadium.

The decision means that both Parma-Napoli and Sassuolo-Cagliari will be allowed to have up to 1,000 fans for Sunday’s matches.

Formula 1 fans were also given a boost as the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix set to take place at Imola from October 31 to November 1 will host up to 13,147 fans.

Inter have also announced they will allow 1,000 fans into the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for their friendly match with Pisa on Saturday.
