Bay FC forward, Asisat Oshoala is optimistic that the Super Falcons can secure a podium finish at the 2024 Olympic Games, despite being drawn in a challenging group with Spain, Japan, and Brazil, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The nine-time African champions return to the Olympics after a 16-year absence, and Oshoala is confident in their ability to make a strong impact.

"I have a lot of confidence in this team. We have many young players and we can make things difficult for our opponents," she said.

Oshoala's ambition goes beyond just progressing from the group stage, as she believes the team can "walk away with a medal" in Paris.

The Super Falcons will begin their campaign against Brazil at the Matmut Atlanque in Bordeaux on Thursday, looking to make a strong start in their quest for Olympic glory.
