In an interview with ESPN, former Stuttgart and Mexican international midfielder Pavel Pardo revealed that European interest around several Mexican players is real and we could see some of them playing in the Old Continent soon:
"There are definitely some like Orbelin (Pineda), (Jose) Macias, (Santiago) Naveda, (Carlos) Acevedo, (Sebastian) Cordova, that are on several European clubs' radar, depending on what positions they are looking to fill. [However], one of the biggest problems we have in Mexico for them to go to Europe are the player costs that are so high and that Mexican clubs are willing to pay for them, which favors them staying in LigaMX. When a [European] club has the chance to bring a player like Macias to Europe, which is very possible, once they see what Chivas' asking price is for him they start looking elsewhere, like East Europe, Brazil and Argentina"
He added that "German clubs usually tend not to sign players outside of Europe that are older than 24, so that is another barrier"
