Greek club, Panathinaikos FC, has secured the services of Nigerian forward Cyriel Dessers on a three-year deal from Rangers, arriving as the tenth addition for an undisclosed fee, Nigeriansoccernet.com reports.

The 30-year-old striker has been linked to AEK Athens all summer, but the deal didn't go through with Rangers reportedly turning down their offer on various occasions.

Dessers joined Rangers when Cremonese were relegated from Serie A back in 2023. His impact was immediate and remarkable. He struck fear into defenders and found the back of the net with ease, scoring 22 goals across all competitions in his debut season.

He then followed it up with 29 goals the next year, a tally that crowned him the league’s top scorer. Over the course of his career, he has also lifted silverware in both Scotland, where he won a domestic cup before his eventual exit.

The striker, who is set to link up with his fellow countryman ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, has been assigned the number 33 jersey.
