Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has spoken out about his surprise move to Galatasaray, revealing that collapsed deals with Al Ahli and Chelsea led to his decision, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli after his proposed transfers fell through on deadline day.

"I had plans to stay at Napoli and wait for three months, possibly leaving in January, but I wasn't going to let anyone decide for me," Osimhen told TRT Spor.

"It was important for me to stay since I didn't get the move I really wanted."

However, a phone call from Galatasaray's coach changed his mind. "He told me what he wanted to achieve this season and I could see his ambition, not just as a coach but also as a person and a father."

Osimhen's move to Galatasaray has revitalized his season, with the Nigerian international already making an impact in the Turkish Super Lig.
