Napoli's goalkeeper Alex Meret who was one of Napoli’s key players on Wednesday night against Barcelona, making two impressive saves to fend off the visitors has revealed how instrumental Victor Osimhen is to the team.

After the first half ended goalless, Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring in the 60th minute by firing the ball into the bottom left. Napoli replied 15 minutes later through Victor Osimhen, who slotted home to even the scores.

“I’m happy because we managed to hold Barcelona back in the first half an hour. We had the right attitude.", Alex said as gathered by Nigeriasoccernet.com after the game.

“It’s a shame about the goal we conceded because it was an equal match. Thanks to Victor [Osimhen]’s goal, we managed to level the scores".

“Osimhen is special to us, but even those who were subbed on in the second half brought new energy into the game".

“We’re got to start again from the positive aspects we showed tonight. We need to work to continue down this path and improve.”

The two sides will meet again in three weeks’ time in Barcelona to settle the tie and decide who proceeds to the quarter-finals as Osimhen will be looking to put up another blistering display as his side seek a place in the last 8.
