Victor Osimhen played the full match as Galatasaray defeated Stuttgart 2-0 at RAMS Park to claim their second victory of this season’s UEFA Champions League group-stage campaign.

The Nigeria international was a prominent figure in Tuesday night’s Matchday Four fixture, helping the Turkish champions follow up their previous European success against French side Lille with another important win.

Galatasaray settled the match during a dominant opening 15 minutes. Aleksey Batrakov put the hosts ahead in the 12th minute and added a second goal three minutes later to give Okan Buruk’s side a commanding advantage.

Those early strikes allowed Galatasaray to control the rest of the contest. Stuttgart were unable to find a way back into the game as the home side protected their lead and secured all three points.

The result strengthens Galatasaray’s position in the competition after their away victory over Lille in their previous Champions League outing. It also extends the positive momentum surrounding the Turkish champions in Europe.

Osimhen, 27, has now continued his involvement in each of Galatasaray’s European fixtures this season. The striker has scored one goal in three Champions League appearances for the club.

Galatasaray will return to Champions League action on Tuesday, November 24, when Aston Villa visit RAMS Park. The Turkish champions will be seeking to maintain their winning run against the Premier League side in another important match in the competition.
