Victor Osimhen believes his success in the Serie A this season defies the expectation of some critics who thought he’d struggle or fail.

The 23-year-old shared his thought on social media, as he hit back at those, he called critics and added that their hate will only motivate him to do better.

Osimhen won the best player Under 23 award with 14 goals in Serie A from 27 appearances for the Partenopei.

“This one is also for the people, who want to see me, fail, You will all motivate me to put a lot of you all in shame. God is the greatest, we move on.”

He then described the award as big achievement, considering everything he went through all the season.

“For me, this is a big milestone,” he opened up.

“Having gone through a lot of tough times, from multiple injuries and all, I still stood my ground against all odds but I won’t be able to do these things without the support of my family, friends, fans, and of course my teammates, the coaches,” he penned on his official Instagram handle.

Interestingly, Osimhen finished joint eighth in the Serie A goal scoring charts with a total of 14 goals. He was Napoli’s top scorer in all competitions last season with 18 goals and five assists.
