Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has confirmed that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is fit and available for the club’s UEFA Champions League encounter against Atletico Madrid, despite recent injury concerns, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Osimhen had raised fitness doubts after limping off during Nigeria’s semi-final defeat to hosts Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The 27-year-old subsequently missed the Super Eagles’ third-place playoff victory over Egypt last Saturday, but returned to Turkey earlier this week.

The prolific forward rejoined Galatasaray training on Monday and was immediately involved in full sessions with his teammates, easing fears over his condition ahead of the crucial European fixture.

Speaking ahead of the match, Buruk confirmed Osimhen’s readiness and also provided updates on other members of the squad.

“Osimhen joined the squad yesterday. He trained with us, and it was a good training session,” Buruk said.

“Ismail Jakobs will be in the squad. Sara will train with the team and test herself. Singo won’t be with us for this match. Our squad has grown a bit more. This has been a morale boost, especially for me.”

Galatasaray will host Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid at the RAMS Park on Wednesday, as the Turkish champions look to strengthen their position in the Champions League with the return of key players.
