Osafo Marfo predicts Ghana versus Cote D'voire final at AFCON
Former Sports minister Nana Yaw Osafo Marfo has predicted Ghana will meet neighbours Cote D’voire in the finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
The two West African giants have qualified to the semi-finals after negotiating their respective quarter-final games.
The Ghanaian recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Guinea while the Elephants managed a 3-1 win over tournament favourite Algeria.
The Black Stars will clash with host Equatorial Guinea in Thursday second semi-final game while the Ivorians will square off against DR Congo a day earlier.
Nana Yaw Osafo Marfo, a former Ghana Sports minister under the erstwhile Kuffuor administration, predicts a Ghana versus Cote D’voire finals.
“I have been impressed with the attitude and commitments of our boys and I believe they will get to the final,” he told Accra-based Okay FM
“I think Ghana will meet with Cote D’voire in the finals but cannot tell the scoreline.
“The two teams are equally strong and mentally ready for the title and I think luck will be deciding factor in the final analysis.
“Luck will play a key role in which country finally lift the trophy on Sunday.”
If the two teams manage to set-up a final clash, it will be the repeat of the 1992 final in Senegal where the Ivorians won the trophy after a marathon penalty shoot-out.
