Opponent Watch: Bloemfontein Celtic chairman Tshabalala believes in Bafana can cause AFCON upset
Bloemfontein Celtic chairman Max Tshabalala has urged and wished Bafana Bafana all the best for their upcoming Afcon 2015 tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
Buoyed by passion and his perpetual love for the country, the Celtic head-honcho explained the significance of Bafana doing well at that competition.
“Bafana’s success during Afcon 2015 will auger well with our vision as a country to reclaim our pride and consequent to that; well deserved exposure to these players. The world must know we have adequately developed players and that must start with Africa recognising our strength and agility. Football bosses have devotedly invested in football to see the growth not only of their teams but Bafana as a national assert,” commented Tshabalala.
Relishing the great moments of 1996 when the country first won the same competition Tshabalala expressed the desire to see the country united in celebrating the victory: “I clearly recall how the country went berserk in 1996 celebrating Afcon success, with Shakes at the helm Bafana has reinstated that patriotism sprit with some phenomenal displays and everyone seems to be fully behind the team. Celtic is no exception, we believe in these boys and trust we shall triumph as a country,” concluded the Celtic chairman.
Bafana Bafana will play their opening match against Algeria on the 19th of January (Monday) followed by clash against Senegal on the 23rd of January (Friday). Both games will be played at 21h00. In the last group stages match, Bafana will take on Ghana at 20h00 on Tuesday (27 Jan 2015).
