Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu has climbed into the top 10 of the European Golden Shoe standings following an impressive scoring run for Trabzonspor in the 2025/26 season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 31-year-old forward has netted 21 league goals and provided two assists in 24 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig, underlining his importance as the focal point of Trabzonspor’s attack. His tally has earned him 31.5 points, placing him 10th in the current Golden Shoe rankings.

The ranking system applies a coefficient that gives greater weight to goals scored in Europe’s top five leagues, which explains the gap between Onuachu and the leading contenders.

At the top of the standings is Harry Kane, who leads the race with 31 goals and 62 points for Bayern Munich. He is followed by Kylian Mbappé with 23 goals (46 points) for Real Madrid, and Erling Haaland, who has 22 goals (44 points) for Manchester City.

Others in the top 10 include Igor Thiago of Brentford with 19 goals (38 points), Luis Suárez with 24 goals (36 points) for Sporting CP, as well as Deniz Undav and Vedat Muriqi, who both have 18 goals (36 points) for VfB Stuttgart and RCD Mallorca respectively.

Also ahead of Onuachu are Ayase Ueda with 22 goals (33 points) for Feyenoord and Joaquín Panichelli, who has 16 goals (32 points) for RC Strasbourg.

Onuachu’s inclusion in the top 10 highlights his consistent goal-scoring form this season and reinforces his status as one of the most prolific Nigerian forwards currently playing in Europe.
