Amed Toure arrives in Ghana to sort out France visa after being handed Burkina Faso call-up
Kotoko striker Amed Toure arrived in Ghana on Friday morning to sort out his France visa after being named in Burkina Faso's squad for their international friendly double-header against Mali and Congo.
The 28-year-old, who is currently on loan at Lebanese giants Nejmeh SC, has been named in Gernot Rohr’s squad for the friendly against the two French countries next month.
Toure was unable to travel to Ouagadougou due to the political unrest that has rocked the West African country following a coup d’etat.
The Stallions will play Mali on October 9 before taking on Congo four days later in France.
A coup in Burkina Faso threatened to pull the country further into political crisis, with leading ministers detained, violent clashes on the streets of the capital, and a wide-eyed general installed overnight as head of state.
But a swift intervention from west African countries including Senegal, Benin, and headed by Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari, has restored the country to order in an unprecedented – and peaceful – turnaround.
