Following his impressive performances this season that has so far seen him register 11 goals and 8 assists in 18 league games for Bayer Leverkusen as they won their first ever Bundesliga title on Sunday, former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh believes Boniface will sooner or later lead Nigeria to continental glory and more, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Boniface who missed Nigeria's AFCON 2023 second place finish after sustaining an injury during the team's camping in Dubai return to the scoring sheet for Leverkusen on his first start for the club since December as they ran riot 5-0 over Werder Bremen in front of their fans.

He opened the scoring for Xabi Alonso's men from the spot in the first half and went on to assist Granit Xhaka for the second before making way for Schick in the second half.

His all round performance this season haven't gone unnoticced with several European clubs queueing to price him out of the newly crowned Bundesliga champions, this definitely has made Sunday Oliseh believe he can shoulder the responsibility of leading Nigeria to the Africa Cup of Nations glory.

Reacting via his official twitter handle after Leverkusen won the league on Sunday, Oliseh twitted he’s convinced Boniface can lead Nigeria to AFCON glory soon.

“Victor Boniface was once again extraordinary as Leverkusen grabbed its first ever Bundesliga title with 5 games left to play.

“Boniface is strong, skillful, intelligent, mobile, calm under pressure and I am convinced he will lead Nigeria to AFCON glory & more soon. Congrats.”

Despite missing 3 months of actions due to injury, Victor Boniface have so far scored 18 goals, 9 assists in 27 appearances in all competition for Leverkusen this season.
