Nigeria defender Ola Aina was in action as Nottingham Forest B Team eased past visitors Millwall U21s on Friday night to maintain their perfect record in the Premier League Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 30-year old has been out of action for three months after picking up an hamstring injury in Super Eagle's 1-1 draw against South Africa in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers back in September.

Alongside missing three months of action for Nottingham Forest, Aina didn't feature in Nigeria's 4-0 win over Benin, the playoffs against Gabon and DR Congo who eventually eliminated Eric Chelle's side via penalties.

He has been training with the first team for a while as he continues to build fitness ahead of an impending return, the experienced defender played a key role in Academy's second goal in the 34th minute.

Aina is expected to make a first team return as early as January if all goes according to plan having been excluded from Nigeria's AFCON squad.
