Morocco on Tuesday evening became the fifth African team to have ever reached quarterfinals of the World Cup after defeating the 2010 champions Spain 3-0 on penalties after a goals 120 minutes.

The Atlas Lions of Morocco have not conceded a direct goal from any other their opposition at the World Cup except for an own goal in their last group stage against Canada.

Morocco after victory, got the deserved praise from former Nigerian international Austin Okocha claiming “it takes a lot of courage to defend” against a team like Spain.

“Well deserve, it takes a lot of courage to defend like that for over 120 minutes without loosing focus, without loosing concentration.

“They deserve a bit of luck at the end of the day because penalty can go either ways. Congratulations to them.”

Morocco will now play Portugal in the quarterfinals after the Selecao defeated Switzerland 6-1.
