Lugano restarts from an experienced coach. The Swiss club choose Abel Braga, a Brazilian manager fresh from his experience at Internacional.
Here is the full press release: "Abel Carlos da Silva Braga, born on 1 September 1952, better known as Abel Braga, will be the new FC Lugano manager. The Brazilian coach played most of his career in Brazil, with a brief spell in France (at PSG) between 1979 and 1981.
A few years later he began a very long career as a coach during which, in 36 years, has won more than 20 titles.
Many titles concern the Brazilian state championships (those that are played in the first half of the season), but in 2006 the moment of greatest fame comes when at the helm of the Internacional of Porto Alegre he wins both the Copa Libertadores (the South American equivalent of the Champions League ) that the Club World Cup won 1-0 against Barcelona.
