In a statement on their Twitter account, Club Necaxa announced they have signed Argentinian striker Mauro Quiroga who played at Pachuca in the Guardianes 2021 tournament.

This will be Quiroga's second stint with Necaxa, after the striker impressed with the Aguascalientes club in 2018 when he was at the top of the scorer list with 12 goals. His performances declined once he left the club, landing at Atletico San Luis in 2020 at first and at Pachuca this last season. During these two years he was only able to score 5 goals. Necaxa bring him back with the hope of seeing him retake his 2018 form and in turn help the club make a deep run into the postseason for this upcoming Apertura tournament. He is the hidrocalidos fourth signing in just the past couple of days, joining Luis Quintana, Agustin Oliveros and Fernando Gonzalez, as the team's executives reiterate their intention of bringing back a title to Baja California after more than two decades.
