October betting tips: Haaland goal and Wales-Denmark corners backed
Arthur Wandji, a sports betting expert and Cameroonian journalist, has selected two matches for a betting double on 4 October: Portugal against Norway and Wales against Denmark.
Portugal v Norway – 4 October, 18:45 GMT
Betting option: Erling Haaland to score (odds: 2.05)
Erling Haaland scored in the previous meeting between Portugal and Norway, reducing the deficit to 2-1 after half-time. The Norway striker now has 65 goals for his country and heads into this fixture in strong individual form.
Haaland has scored 10 goals in his past eight competitive appearances for club and country, underlining why he is being backed to find the net again.
Norway will have to cope with changes in defence. Torbjørn Heggem is suspended, while Julian Ryerson has left the squad through injury. Alexander Sørloth is also unavailable.
Portugal will be without Cristiano Ronaldo, who has departed, while Bruno Fernandes is expected to miss the match. Even so, the Portuguese attack could put Norway under pressure and force them to take greater risks.
That could create opportunities for Haaland, with the striker expected to score as Norway look to protect their position.
Wales v Denmark – 4 October, 18:45 GMT
Betting option: more than 8.5 corners (odds: 1.64)
The statistics surrounding Denmark point towards a high corner count. Their past 15 official international matches have produced more than 8.5 corners in 13 cases.
Wales have also shown a regular attacking threat at home. They have recorded at least five shots on target in five of their past seven official matches on home soil.
Wales’ 2-1 victory over Norway has strengthened their position, while their home record remains difficult for opponents to overcome. They have lost only one official match after 90 minutes since June 2023.
David Brooks’ absence because of injury is not expected to significantly alter the pattern of the game. Denmark will continue to rely on players capable of creating openings, with Mikkel Damsgaard among those to watch.
Damsgaard has been involved in three goals across the opening three rounds of the Nations League, making him one of Denmark’s key attacking threats.
