Barely 48 hours to the commencement of the 2023/24 Nigeria Women Football League NWFL Super six championship holding in Bayelsa State, Edo Queens Football Club of Benin today landed the Oil rich State.

Addressing the entire contingent before their departure, Edo State Sports Commission boss, Yussuf Alli (Olympian), told the players to be good ambassadors of the State throughout their stay in Bayelsa, adding that the Executive Governor His Excellency Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, Her Excellency Dr. Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, and the entire people of Edo State are solidly behind them, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

He noted that Governor and the sports loving people of Edo State are looking up to them to come back to Edo State with the trophy, stressing that the State government has done all it's needed to do that it is now left for the players to reciprocate.

"Let me used this opportunity to welcome you all back to Benin City after a successful close camping programme, I must also commend you all for the way and manner you conducted yourself during that exercise. I was getting daily reports from the leader of delegation and your coach. Am happy with the level of discipline you exhibited. I want you to continue with that same character because career without discipline is dead."

"Now you are going for a competition, you must as a matter fact imbibe that winning mentality that you are known for, the State governor, His Excellency Mr. Godwin Obaseki, his wife Her Excellency Dr.Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, and all well-meaning Edo person are solidly behind you, so go to Bayelsa and conquer".

"We are looking forward to seeing you girls lift the trophy. A lot of incentives have been lined up for grab, just go there do your best and allow God to complete the rest."

As Edo Queens set to return to action on Saturday, it is expected that players make extra efforts in other for them to set on a new adventure.
