NWFL: Nasarawa Amazon's chairperson hopeful of league title
Nasarawa Amazons Chairperson, Hajiya Husaina Suleiman is hoping that the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side emerge as league Champions.
The Lafia based outfit narrowly missed out on the title at the 2022 NWFL Premiership Super Six in Benin City where they finished behind eventual champions, Bayelsa Queens, who recently won bronze in Morocco.
And ahead of the new campaign, one of the only Chairperson, stressed that winning the league crown will be a huge achievement for the Northern side after recent impressive form under coach Christopher Danjuma.
“If Nasarawa Amazons emerge as Champions of the NWFL Premiership, it is going to be big for the entire team. We will give thanks to the Almighty God as we look forward to winning the league,” Suleiman told nigeriafootball.ng.
“The management always encourages the girls to give their best and bring the best out of the team to make Nasarawa state proud. The State Governor has been encouraging the team.
“The only reward we can give the government is to win the league. If we win the league, we are going to celebrate it in a big way. Everybody in the state is behind Nasarawa Amazons as their loving team. If we make history, they will be very happy.”
Danjuma tutored side prepared for the League with a third-place finish at the 2022 Sheroes Cup in Abuja and will launch their new season campaign against Edo Queens in Lafia on November 30.
