Nottingham Forest's manager, Nuno Espírito Santo has revealed that Taiwo Awoniyi, the Nigerian Super Eagles striker, is expected to be absent for two upcoming matches, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles forward has been sidelined for the past fortnight due to a recurring injury, causing him to miss recent international fixtures against Ghana and Mali.

Despite the setback, Espirito remains optimistic about Awoniyi's return before the conclusion of the season.

Speaking to Nottinghamshireshire Live, he stated, "I don't know exactly how long he will be out for, but I am positive we are going to see him again this season. He will definitely miss these two games."

Awoniyi played a pivotal role in Forest's fight against relegation this season, providing 6 goals and 3 assists in 17 league games.
