NPFL'23: We 'll keep pushing for positive results - Ogunbote
Ibadan soccer lords, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), will strive to maintain their recently found new form as the 2022/23 NPFL season progresses, team's head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has promised.
The Oluyole Warriors have overcame a spate of poor form to bounce back to winning ways with back to back victories against Plateau United in Ibadan and Kwara United in Akure.
Speaking after his side pipped Kwara United in a dramatic fashion last Sunday, courtesy of Joshua Akpan's late strike, the former handler of the defunct Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, refused to be carried away by the two straight wins, saying that the team will continue to fight to get better
"It is a good thing that we won today (Sunday) but that is not to say we are there yet. We will keep on pushing to get to that level we are aiming.
"The important thing is that we are winning after a winless run and we are not ready to take our foot off the pedal", said the sweat merchant , who hailed his players for keeping their heads high, despite the winless run.
"I must commend my players for their doggedness and ruggedness which resulted in the win over Plateau United and our first win on the road", stated the ex Rangers International gaffer.
Ogunbote also praised the travelling supporters and fans of the club, who thronged the Akure Township Stadium in their hundreds to back the team to victory.
Shooting Stars will hope to continue with their good form on Sunday when they play host to Remo Stars in a South west derby.
